Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010 Pt 4: Haider Ackermann, Rick Owens, Sharon Wauchob & Gareth Pugh - The Dark Ones

Haider Ackermann

Haider Ackermann's latest collection aimed at utilitarianism: long, undulating collars that can be wrapped around the neck any number of ways and zipped-on peplums that are easily detached, making each piece incredibly versatile. Loved the pale grey coat (so simple, so stunning) as well as the last pictured black dress:

Rick Owens

Puffers (down-filled wraps), biker jackets (slick to the ribs, and zippered up one side), hoodies (conceptual versions with geometric horn appliqués), and fur vests (kangaroo at the less expensive end, full-length mink at the ultra).

Sharon Wauchob

Sharon Wauchob's approach was to consider cut—not the silhouette, which was beautifully simple and clean, with brilliant textile techniques.

Gareth Pugh

Incredible outerwear, and loved Gareth Pugh's use of chains in the last few pieces:

  6. Dear B
If you could be bothered, I would very much love to see your best and worst dressed Oscar pics. My faves were Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kristen Stewart. My least faves were Charlize Theron and Penelope Cruz (PC is usually one of my award show faves)

  8. Congratulations on this post: it is really good to see a blog which is not only showing images of fashion shows as they come but can show the similarities, give some perspectives. It might even be better to compare designers look by look. This neo-goth trend is perplexing and slightly boring - these designers create great silhouettes and great lines, but I am worried that the copycats on the high-street will only have boring stuff to offer next season !
