Wish (or wishful thinking) list for Paris

Can't believe I leave in less than 24 hours!

Obviously I can't have all of them, but these items are on my wishlist for Paris.  Hopefully I come home with at least one or two of them in my suitcase (well, here's hoping):

Wish (or wishful thinking) list

1. Celine Trapeze, 2. Proenza Schouler PS11 classic bag can be found here and here, 3. Hermes Collier de Chien cuff (in crocodile/alligator would be nice, haha, although maybe just smooth black leather may do too), 4. Chanel espadrilles (probably not canvas though), 5. Celine Trio (black or navy)

Planning upcoming outfits to wear during Paris Couture Week

Ok, so I really should be wrapping up my packing, as I leave in a couple of days.  As invites have started rolling in, I realised that it will be more than the 1-2 shows that I will be attending at Paris' Couture Week, so started panicking as that means I need more 'dressy' outfits.  I have been spamming my Instagram feed with outfits I'm thinking of wearing, and for my own reference, thought I'd post them here, so I have them on the one page.  There is another dress I had long planned to bring which is at the tailor (along with a few other pieces I'm hoping to pack - talk about last minute! I'm picking them up the day before I take off!).  I had only planned on bringing one pair of dressy shoes, but that has proved a challenge, so I'm trying to pack shoes that should hopefully suit a variety of outfits and that aren't too bulky:

T-shirt: Bonds, Dress: Chloe (by Phoebe Philo), Clutch: Dries Van Noten, Sandals: Dries Van Noten
Dress: Malaysian hand-painted batik 'maxi' dress, Shoes: Margiela for H&M plexi booties, bag: Dries Van Noten - when I bought this dress, I thought it was so Dries Van Noten, and something I could picture Cate Blanchett wearing (not sure why). Am also thinking these may suit some minimal flat DVN sandals I have (and are pretty light, if I'm to add it to my growing shoe list)...
Dress: David Szeto (unfortunately you can barely see what it's meant to look like), Clutch and sandals: Dries Van Noten
Dress: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Koi Suwannagate, Clutch: Dries Van Noten, Shoes: Margiela for H&M plexi booties
as before, but bag: Chanel reissue, with this outfit I'd prefer black sandals, but I can't seem to find mine! Don't know where they are since I moved...
And again.

I thought perhaps to avoid bringing/smooshing my Chanel bag I'd bring the Dries Van Noten clutches which are more compact and less 'delicate' to pack, but I'm not sure yet...

New in: YSL Arty ring - ain't Laurent without Yves

For those who follow me on Instagram, you may know of my recent purchase of the YSL (Yves Saint Laurent - although now under 'Saint Laurent) Arty ring.  Not knowing my size I ordered them in both a 6 and 7 (my wedding ring size is a 5).  The smaller fits on my left hand, and the larger on my right (although too loose for my ring finger).  I am trying to use  every fibre in my body to resist keeping both, haha!  They are absolutely stunning! I have wanted one for so many years, but hesitated due to its gold colour (and my wedding/e-ring being white gold).  I also have a 'marine/rose gold' on its way too me, and ordered a turquoise in a 6 that will have to go back as it's too small (I found it smaller than the cream, oddly enough, although I did read how these rings vary in sizing depending on what colour it is).  Update: it does, however, fit my left hand, contemplating keeping it *guilty look*

Uhm...please excuse the silly hand shots!

I bought the YSL Arty cream ring (on sale at net-a-porter!) here, and you can find them in other colours here.

For those who own YSL Arty rings, please do share your colours, and whether you wear them often!

xx

TGIF!

This time next week I'll be in London with my sister!

Had better get back to packing...

Black and blue all over - (What I wore today): Burberry leather and Isabel Marant Betty sneakers

This jacket will always bring me fond memories of Barcelona. I have written about this before, but after a Burberry shopping spree with Mr Brigs and my sisters in Barcelona, we were snapped outside the store and interviewed for a local newspaper, which we laughed about for so long the following morning when we saw our pic on the newsstands. It is one of my favourite jackets: the washed leather, the ribbed knit cuffs and waistband, the flap pockets, and the purple plaid lining (how can one not feel happy with purple plaid?.

Normally I'd wear this jacket with black jeans, but I don't have any that fit me at the moment (it's on my 'wishlist').  This is what I wore to the post office to send some lovely items from my store to loving new homes.

Jacket: Burberry leather jacket (old), Jeans: Rag & Bone 'The Dre' in Wells (available in Bradford here), Shoes: Isabel Marant Betty sneakers (the all-suede Bobby is available here, here and here), Knit: Willow black cashmere knit, Sunglasses: Ray Ban Folding wayfarer (available here and polarized version here - that is what I have)

Peut-être Magazine Issue 7 out now!

I've been a bit busy lately wrapping up Issue 7 of Peut-être Magazine, and today it launched online! It should be in stores shortly, and  I cannot wait to see them for myself at Selfridges in London and at the Colette store in Paris (and other stores too, especially since I'll be staying in the Marais area, filled with cute little bookstores - some which stock Peut-être Magazine) ! Can't believe I leave next week! Haven't packed yet!  Procrastination is my middle name.

You can view Issue 7 online here, or order your own copy here:

Beautiful 'sculptures' by Yiqing Yin
Beautiful shapes at Veronique Leroy - great hair and makeup too...

Veronique Leroy accessories - hand belts anyone?

Jean-Paul Lespagnard - brilliant Swarovski embellished accessories, including an award-winning eco-lamp.

Modern-Day Samurais at Dans La Vie

Jean-Paul Lespagnard - the 'maatje' (herring)

The kimono pieces at Dans La Vie were my favourite
The makeup and hair at Fam Irvoll was just gorgeous, cute clothes too!

I had lots of fun writing about Tsumori Chisato, probably my favourite collection in this issue.
Was so tempted to write: Pinchy! (for Simpsons fans, you'll know what I'm talking about), or the lyrics to 'Under the Sea' (from Little Mermaid).  But no, I refrained from doing so... (although not in my head)
The watercolour handpainted prints were my favourite...

Shop my Closet Pt 2 - Jackets

I forgot to tell you all that I added a few jackets in my 'store'.  I have loads more to add, but will wait 'til I get back from my trip to Europe.  Please note I leave late next week, so I will 'close' the store on Monday or Tuesday.  Poor timing, I know...But I've been couped up at home with two very sick babies, and I thought: there's no time like the present! So until next Tuesday, items in the store are up for grabs.

The jackets include designers like Burberry, Willow, Vanessa Bruno, and Sass & Bide:

My Dries Van Noten gold cluster ball necklace

Remember this post asking for your help in deciding what colour Dries Van Noten necklace to buy? Well, I went for the gold, and am so glad I did!  As soon as I first laid eyes on pictures of this necklace being worn on the runway, I fell head over heels in love with it, am still kicking myself for hesitating about which ring to get, as I of course, missed out as they sold out like hotcakes.

The collection took inspiration from Belgian sculptor Pol Bury's work.  Most of his monumental and public artwork consists of stainless steel, grouped, monumental balls.  The fountain in the garden of the Palais Royal in Paris, resembling a smattering of large silver beads, was reflected as a motif in Van Noten’s gold and silver necklaces, shoe decoration, rings and bracelets.  I snapped some pics on my iPhone so I could add to my 'Stylebook' app (just got this yesterday), so thought I'd share them here:

pics via ilovebelgium.com, my own pics and my shots from DVN's Lookbook.

I'm in the process of listing some jackets (Sass & Bide, Willow, Burberry and Chloe) for sale in my 'store', will update when it's all done.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Shop my closet: Shoes!

I started adding some shoes (Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Yves Saint Laurent, Marni, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs and Topshop) to my store, if any of you would like to check it out (you can click on the image or here to take you to the store).  I also reduced the prices of most of the items previously there:
