New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 Pt 2: Purdy Birdy at Thakoon

Despite being a huge Thakoon fan, this time last year I wasn't a huge fan of his Spring collection, but this collection took me by surprise and my breath away at the same time. The opening dress in particular, the curved lines following the shape of a birdcage with a beautiful print that was repeated in following pieces. The yellow embroidered jacket is also one of my favourite pieces of this collection:









I would prefer this without the yellow peplum...


The white tennis dress under the top is so cute...

If no one told me Vera Wang designed this collection, I never would have guessed. Featuring colorful kaleidoscope print (which reminded me of Peter Pilotto) and bold colours, I loved the tailored jackets worn with wispy dresses:

The mostly 'business' color palette—black, navy, charcoal, and ivory was punctuated with gorgeous deep red, in this very practical collection:
