New in: COS - Collection of Style (stripes x 3) - and discount code

After posting my picture on Instagram, I just found out COS is opening in Australia in Septemer!!! Sadly only Melbourne so far... But only recently did they open an online store in the US, so I pounced on the opportunity to actually click 'buy' on my computer.  So many times I 'window online shopped' on their European store, with hundreds, nay thousands, of dollars worth of items in my imaginary shopping cart.  Funnily, when I actually went to Europe and went into their London and Paris stores various times, I always walked out empty-handed, a little overwhelmed.  It seems I am better at shopping online than in stores! I think it's because online you can browse by category, type in the search box 'striped', see what it looks like on a mannequin, much faster than you can browse a whole store, walk in to the changerooms with an armful of clothes, and try it on...

For so long I have been a fan of their minimal style, and their many many striped tops

So this is what arrived in the mail:

L-R: Cotton/Wool striped top, Long silk blazer (the main reason why I put the order through was to get this, major love), wrap metal ring (wore this today), Textured Striped dress (pictured below as well), Striped tee, and Flared Cotton Dress (reminded me of Raf Simons work for Dior)
pic via iPhone/Instagram.

Oh, and I used the code: HELLOAMERICA to get 25% off! I think it runs until the end of June, with free shipping within the US (I had to use a mail forwarder as they don't ship internationally).

Already building my wishlist up again...

This can get dangerous!

My Valentino Rockstud Pumps - and Net-a-Porter US sale now on!!!

I finally got to 'christen' my Rockstuds yesterday, wore them to a book launch on 'Art and Fashion in the 21st Century' at the Art Gallery last night.  They were the perfect shoes for the occasion, I mean, look at them! They're a work of art, haha!

Top: Saba striped Kylie tee, Blazer: Helmut Lang (similar available here), Pants: Scanlan & Theodore, Shoes: Valentino patent black/blush mid-heel pumps
And because I've been asked a few times, you can find a range of Valentino Rockstud pumps at:

Farfetch
Net-a-Porter
Forward by Elyse Walker
Lane Crawford
Bergdorf Goodman

Stylebop
Saks Fifth Avenue

And off topic, Net-a-Porter US has started their sale today!  I won't tell you how many tabs I have open at the moment...You can click here or on the image below to start shopping! N.b. If you live outside the US and land on the non-US site (where their sale has not started yet), you can just change the site/country preference on the top left corner.

Black and white: Seed Ava two-tone leather espadrilles

Apologies for going MIA! I had my sister and little nephew visiting for over a week, and even though I've been pretty active on Instagram (if you haven't already, you can join me here), my poor blog has been neglected.

I thought I'd share one of my recent purchases (that didn't break the bank, thankfully), these leather espadrilles from Seed Heritage.  These things have been selling like hotcakes, so I bought them in two sizes to make sure I got the right fit.  As it turns out, I'm keeping my true size even though I found the run a bit long, and will keep the smaller size for my mom, who is finally returning to Australia next week! So excited!

Outfit details: Scanlan & Theodore boyfriend (drop crotch) pants (must post about this soon, these have been a workhorse since I bought them a few weeks ago), Celine Trio bag, Ray Ban folding wayfarers, Swiss Legend Karamica watch (i.e. the only watch I use, pretty much), SABA Kylie striped tee (available here).

 Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

What I wore: Chloe jewelled mariniere, Celine Trio and Rivieras Espadrilles

Yesterday was a beautifully sunny day...

Coffee and macarons...what a way to start my day!  Coffee deflated by the time I snapped it...it looked like a souffle before!
I think I've had this Chloe top for almost 10 years! My favourite part are the jewelled details...Even though I have 1001 striped tops, this is one of my favourites...
Rivieras espadrilles in the Jimmy Fairly store in Paris - multicoloured leather version available here, I found my colourway here, and similar color combinations at net-a-porter, here and here
We went to our favourite playground, couldn't help 'hopscotching'
Lil' Brigs #1 had a ball at the playground, especially in the sand pit and on the swing...

 Rivieras espadrilles and Celine Trio

Lunch at Burgastronomy: Hot bacon bird - fried chicken, lettuce and tomato with bbq sauce, mayonnaise and chipotle with the most AMAZING sweet potato fries with an extra side of crispy fried chicken for good measure...
Top: Chloe, Sunglasses: Tiffany aviators (I had the Ray Ban folding wayfarer sunglasses earlier), Jeans: Chloe, Bag: Celine, Shoes: Rivieras - multicoloured leather version available here, I found my colourway here, and similar color combinations at net-a-porter, here and here
I cannot tell you how much I love popcorn!
My favourite way to make it: kettle popcorn with cinnamon, nutmeg, sea salt and coconut sugar

And the best drink to have it with? Yes, milk...

all pics my own via my iPhone/Instagram

Hope you are having a fabulous Sunday!

Mine was lovely! Look forward to sharing about it!

What I'm wearing today: Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers, Balenciaga Extra Courier bag & Nautical stripes

My day-to-day outfits are pretty much a variation on a theme:

Usual 'uniform' = Top/Tee/Knit/Button-down shirt (usually striped) + casual pants (jeans/tailored joggers/harem) + comfy shoes (sneakers, low-heeled boots) + bag slung across the body (need two hands when you have two kids, although four would be nice) + jacket (if required)

OOTD 16.5.13
Velvet by Graham Spencer striped top (available here and here - both currently offering free shipping, for Matches Fashion enter MAYFREE at checkout)
Rag & Bone 'The Dre' jeans in Wells (mine have stretched and I so wish I could find another one in a smaller size! I really like the wash on these jeans!) (available in different washes herehere and here)
Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers in Taupe (available here, and in craie here)
Balenciaga Extra Courier bag (aka my 'baby/nappy bag - which is really a men's travel bag, yeah, it's huge) (available in cobalt here) - I use it practically every day (remember when I posted about it here? Occasionally I use it's slightly smaller version, Courier bag, in Anthracite)

Recent buys - PS. Free Shipping at MyTheresa!

Ah, 'coupon codes' - where would we be without them? With a fatter wallet, most likely...but I have made heavy use of them on recent purchases that I was going to make regardless, so perhaps a slightly fatter wallet with them? Well, that's my story anyway, better stick to it for now...

The latest free shipping code I came upon cinched the deal on an item I had on my 'wishlist' for quite some time and was almost about to purchase without it *whew*

Recent buys

From top centre and clockwise: Willow classic silk tuck shirt (with the 30% off code Willow recently offered for 24 hours only), 3.1 Phillip Lim black cut up silk 'Nueva York' top (MyTheresa has free shipping until the 7th of May! I usually baulk at their 60+ shipping fee), Zara crossover checked shirt, Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers in Taupe (am head over sneakers 'in love' with these, and its uber soft velvet leather! Wish I had bought them from the start!), Equipment black silk Signature shirt (made use of the recent 20% off code Shopbop had on offer), Velvet by Graham Spencer Yurel striped top - free shipping at Matches Fashion! Use code: MAYFREE), Current Elliott Infantry jacket (available in beige at Shopbop), and Zara embroidered bomber (ok, confession time, I bought another one, one size smaller than the first one - which I used today, as I wanted a 'back-up', as I like mine so much, plus I wanted one not-as-oversized).

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Lil J&J's turned 1 and 3 respectively yesterday, and it was a crazy busy week for me (despite the simple party we threw), but it was absolutely worthwhile in the end, seeing how happy they were (especially Lil J#1 - she had an absolute ball this weekend, not only at the party, but having her cousin lil J#3 visit from Sydney).

Street Style at the Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Weeks - Stripes

As you may know, I admitted early on that I am a humungous fan of stripes (especially a la marinière). Following on from the last Street Style post(s) on stripes being worn during Fashion Weeks, it was great seeing them again during the Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Weeks:

Those Maison Michel lace bunny ears are just too cute! (shame Lil' J#1 won't be sporting those anytime soon)
Check out the Rag & Bone Newbury boots! Still loving my pair!
n.b. The 'compilation' photos of striped outfits are from The Sartorialist, and were not necessarily taken during the Fashion Weeks.

Thanks to all who have entered the $100 Shopbop giveaway!

If you haven't already, you still have until Monday 29th of October to do so HERE

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

TGIF!
