Qlippie wearable clippable dressable HD camera (try saying that 5 times fast!)

Have you ever wished for a lightweight compact and easily portable camera that allows you to keep your hands free?  I certainly have, like during a recent amazing bicycle ride along a breathtaking scenic route, or attending my daughter's school performance and trying to juggle a video camera on one hand and DSLR in the other (true story), or like today, when I went on my first ever helicopter ride!

Cue Qlippie, the new clippable livestream HD camera, which boasts a wide angle Sony CMOS-R lens and a variety of customizing 'skins'.  With 12 skins to choose from you can pick and choose a skin to go with your mood or outfit, while its clip makes it completely hands-free and ready for any adventure. No mounts or tripods required, the wide angle Sony CMOS-R lens makes it easy to capture all of life's greatest moments in high definition. Qlippie's free app shows you a live feed of what your camera sees, which makes capturing your photo, video, slow motion, and live-streaming easy peasy. The content is stored on the device, where you it can also be edited (on the app).

Compact in size at 48 x 19.6mm body size and 45g body weight, it still boasts an internal memory of a whopping 32gb, taking 8MP stills or 1080p videos, proving good things do indeed come in small packaging! You can clip it on your clothes, strap of your bag, hat, bicycle basket (or helmet), so many possibilities! You can read Qlippie's full specs here.

My current favourite skin is the minimal b&w 'grid', which is what I chose for today,

Check out Qlippie for yourself here, and if interested, you can get one at the special early bird price through their Indiegogo--the promotion won't last for long (run, don't walk!).

Alena Akhmadullina Spring/Summer '09

Last year I posted on the 10 reasons why I love this Alena Akhmadullina trench coat. Well, the love is still going strong...

Alena Akhamadullina dusky pink trench coat with polka dot lining (the colour is washed out in this pic due to the
sun/lighting that day, for truer colour & close-ups check out this post)
Ilana Moses purple silk dress (not shown)
Leona Edmiston Pins leggings in onyx
Chanel ballerina pumps (with the metallic laces removed)

I love Russian designer Alena Akhmadullina's feminine yet strong designs, mixing 'Russian audacity with Parisian sense of style'. She presented her latest Spring/Summer collection in Paris late last year, and there were plenty of floaty floral designs, juxtaposed with amazing crochet harnesses, that I'm sure Susie of Style Bubble or Queen Michelle at Kingdom of Style could pull off effortlessly (I wouldn't mind giving it a try either), flowy silk pants, and gorgeous drapeing...Beautiful yet easy-to-use pieces that I wouldn't mind having in my wardrobe:

10 reasons why I love this Alena Akhmadullina Trench

Worn with Marc Jacobs ruffled bow flats, Chloe Silverado bag & leggings

Let me count the ways:
  1. I purchased this Alena Akhmadullina moments after purchasing my Akira Isowaga wedding dress at Melbourne's GPO (2 years ago - which is when this photo was taken)
  2. I purchased it on sale (heavily reduced from $1600, yikes! Couldn't believe my luck...)
  3. I love the gorgeous oversized wooden buttons
  4. The over-puffy sleeves (which at first made me apprehensive about purchasing the coat)
  5. The polka-dot lining that peaks at the back (and I'm not usually a polka-dot kinda gal)
  6. The lining is removable! And can be worn as a long vest (not that I've ever done it, but the option's there)
  7. The leather buckles on the belt and sleeves.
  8. The dusky rose colour - transports me to a wooden porch on a rocking chair overlooking a field of wild flowers
  9. This picture was taken minutes before I entered the Victorian Museum, and spotted the wedding dress I had just purchased, as part of the exhibition (as mentioned and pictured in this earlier post - Akira: My wedding dress) .
  10. Ok, another reason not coat-related, but the Marc Jacobs green bow flats I'm wearing (R.I.P)...how I miss them! I wore them (literally) to death (wore a hole through the sole, teaches me to re-sole my favourite shoes earlier). They have since been replaced with MJ's more recent gold version, but sadly, they're not the same (nor as comfy)

(ooh, very bad lighting, the lining is actually white!)

I don't like how the sleeves look so baggy, so I always push mine up. Thank goodness it didn't come with that 'wolf' head (or what is that animal?) as shown on the runway.

Alena Akhmadullina is a Russian fashion designer from St Petersburg, and showed her first seasonal pret-a-porter collection during the Paris Fashion Week in Autumn 2005. She has since shown her collections in Paris every season, combining Russian audacity with a Paris sense of style. This trench is from one of her first collections shown in Paris, and I was incredibly lucky to get my hands on it, as the store I bought it from was shutting down that same day.
