A spot of Saturday shopping: Aurelie Bidermann's Love ring

I am usually a 'statement ring' kind of girl, which has meant big and bold.  Recently I have been yearning for something understated and delicate, enter this Aurelie Bidermann Love ring.  After tossing back and forth on whether I should click 'pay now', I finally took the plunge today, can't wait for it to arrive from Moda Operandi!

Love Ring by Aurelie Bidermann available here.

Today's OOTD worn to take Lil' Brigs #1 and #2 to the Zoo:

Shop my Closet Pt 2 - Jackets

I forgot to tell you all that I added a few jackets in my 'store'.  I have loads more to add, but will wait 'til I get back from my trip to Europe.  Please note I leave late next week, so I will 'close' the store on Monday or Tuesday.  Poor timing, I know...But I've been couped up at home with two very sick babies, and I thought: there's no time like the present! So until next Tuesday, items in the store are up for grabs.

The jackets include designers like Burberry, Willow, Vanessa Bruno, and Sass & Bide:

You can click on the image above to go to the store, or here.

Recent buy: Willow cotton gauze gather shirt and dress: seeing double?

I did not intend to go shopping today.  But whilst in town running errands with Lil' Brigs #2, I walked through a department store and spotted the Willow cotton gauze gather dress and shirt, and wasn't sure which to get (well, I was pretty certain about the shirt, but was feeling silly/guilty about getting the dress as well).  As Lil' Brigs #2 started getting more and more vocal about being stuck in a pram, guess which one I bought?

Yes, you guessed it, both:

Well, the fact that they were reduced shouldn't play into the fact that I bought them both (am upset to later find the dress is $10 less at the Willow store! I know it's 'only' $10, but still...).  I bought them because I found the shirt would be so easy to throw on with shorts or jeans, or dressy pants or pencil skirt.  The shirt dress was such an easy one-piece outfit...I thought they'd go with a pair of ankle boots, with flat sandals or even Isabel Marant sneakers/Dicker boots.  Well, that was my rationale anyway.

Ok, confession time.  This purchase is just one of many of items that I've duplicated (or in some case more than duplicated) in different colours, or sizes, or in this case, lengths...

My sisters make fun of me regarding this and my indecisiveness...

Just a few of the items in my wardrobe in two colours *gulp*
Stella McCartney pumps

Please tell me I'm not the only one with this 'problem'?

Recent buys - PS. Free Shipping at MyTheresa!

Ah, 'coupon codes' - where would we be without them? With a fatter wallet, most likely...but I have made heavy use of them on recent purchases that I was going to make regardless, so perhaps a slightly fatter wallet with them? Well, that's my story anyway, better stick to it for now...

The latest free shipping code I came upon cinched the deal on an item I had on my 'wishlist' for quite some time and was almost about to purchase without it *whew*

Recent buys

From top centre and clockwise: Willow classic silk tuck shirt (with the 30% off code Willow recently offered for 24 hours only), 3.1 Phillip Lim black cut up silk 'Nueva York' top (MyTheresa has free shipping until the 7th of May! I usually baulk at their 60+ shipping fee), Zara crossover checked shirt, Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers in Taupe (am head over sneakers 'in love' with these, and its uber soft velvet leather! Wish I had bought them from the start!), Equipment black silk Signature shirt (made use of the recent 20% off code Shopbop had on offer), Velvet by Graham Spencer Yurel striped top - free shipping at Matches Fashion! Use code: MAYFREE), Current Elliott Infantry jacket (available in beige at Shopbop), and Zara embroidered bomber (ok, confession time, I bought another one, one size smaller than the first one - which I used today, as I wanted a 'back-up', as I like mine so much, plus I wanted one not-as-oversized).

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Lil J&J's turned 1 and 3 respectively yesterday, and it was a crazy busy week for me (despite the simple party we threw), but it was absolutely worthwhile in the end, seeing how happy they were (especially Lil J#1 - she had an absolute ball this weekend, not only at the party, but having her cousin lil J#3 visit from Sydney).

Perspexing weekend Pt 1.

I still have not unpacked my shoes. Yes, it's been two months since I've moved in, and they are still packed away in my boxes.  That is, with the exception of a handful of shoes I use on a regular basis, which I packed in the suitcase for immediate use. These are: my trusty Havaianas slim sandals, my Dries Van Noten flat sandals, and both my red and black Chloe Susanna boots.  I recently added a pair of Nike Roshe Run sneakers to the mix (so happy with this purchase!), as I can now walk Lil J #1 to child care with Lil J #2 checking out his neighborhood from my Ergo carrier.

Just after I moved into my new house, a box arrived from London from my lovely sister J, filled with the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M goodies I asked her to buy for me (and a gorgeous Erdem silk scarf thrown in for good measure).  Up until two weeks ago my MMM for H&M Perspex wedges sat patiently in their box as I traipsed around exclusively in flats (well, if the Chloe boots count as flat - they are just as comfy).

I am so happy with how versatile the two pairs of MMM for H&M shoes are (had some misgivings about purchasing them full-priced), they go with a myriad of outfits and colours, and both pairs went for a spin this weekend.    The nude wedges went perfectly with the Willow Sunset Weave Tweed dress I bought a while ago, and I brought them along to my beautiful friend Kate's wedding (I wore my trusty Dries Van Noten sandals on the 1hr drive):

Sadly, I had to leave the wedding halfway when Mr Brigs decided to 'spin' Lil J #1 around between entrée and main course, resulting in a 'pulled (dislocated)' elbow (Lil J #1's), and a trip to the emergency department...She was having an absolute ball until that point!

Congratulations again, Kate & Simon!

Woo Hoo WILLOW!!!

At long last, Willow has joined the WWW of online shopping!

I am already eyeing a few pieces:

Wish I had nabbed the tweed jacket of the same fabric of this dress I bought, but this one is equally stunning

This dress looks so comfy and easy to throw on and head out the door...
Every season Willow cuts a mean black jacket, this peplum version is no exception.

They don't have the jacket on the shop (as yet), but that's what I am eyeing from this outfit...

The jacket, the pants, the pumps...one of each please!

I wish the images on the online shop could be zoomed into more, and I find the layout a bit bland and uninviting (which is often the case with actual designers' stores, why is that?), but at least it's finally here!

Willow's Resort 2013 'Surface Elements' Collection

With its beautiful textures, leather, tailoring and draping (including the draped harem pants that are reinvented each season by Willow), there is much to love in this collection...the last few sequinned pieces remind me of Willow's Winter 2005 collection, remember the blouse Nicole Richie wore (aka. the Wednesday Wish cami - not sure why it's called a cami)? I have the same one in my wardrobe...one of my favourite pieces. One of these days I must nab a Willow leather jacket, they are always cut so beautifully...oh, and the zip dress has caught my eye (once again - gorgeous silhouette, plus the 'front-access' zip? so practical at this stage!)
