I recently upgraded my iPhone 3G phone to the 4S, and had never bought a cover of my own for either. I had intended to use hubby's 'gym' cover for the 3G 'temporarily', but never replaced it in the few years I had the phone (an ugly silicone almost-fluoro green cover he bought in the brightest colour he could find so it wouldn't get stepped on at the gym, also nicknamed the 'teenage mutant turtle' cover). With the 4S I thought it was time to buy my own (although I used another of hubby's 'hand-me-down' for a couple of months), and had finally decided to get the cute Lanvin cartoon face cover, when
iconemesis kindly offered me one of their covers.
Fusing beautiful artworks with mobile phone cases,
iconemesis collaborates with some of the industry’s finest artists, including popular artists like Gemma Correll, Johanna Beresford, Pomme Chan and Fifi Lapin to create a range of gorgeous iPhone covers. Made of
PBT (I was curious and asked the people at iconemesis), a thermostatic engineering polymer, it is impact resistant, mechanically strong and heat-resistant (i.e. it isn't 'just a pretty face'). I must admit I have dropped my iPhone on more than one occasion, and it has held up beautifully!
The hardest part was choosing which one to get, there were so many to choose from! I am not usually one to have 'cute' things, but somehow I just couldn't go past the Fifi Lapin covers (too gorgeous for words!), and had trouble choosing between the cupcake cover (which I recently found out blogger and model
Hanneli owns! Lil' J has a penchant for cupcakes), the teacup cover (for some reason Lil 'J also has a thing for tea...must be all those nursery rhymes...) and the one where Fifi is wearing oversized sunglasses. I asked my sisters and mom to help me choose, and they all chose a different one! Great help they were, haha!. The floral ones below also tempted me when I thought I should be more 'practical', but again, Fifi prevailed, and as you can see, I chose the 'teacup cover', as I liked the grey background with pastel 'polkadots'. Unfortunately my pics don't pick up the beautiful semi-gloss the cover has.
Iconemesis is offering Brigadeiro readers a chance to win a cover of their own! And you can pick from any of their covers (they aren't all pretty and cute like the ones I was tossing between, but have cool & funky ones too).
