Stripes & Sequins

I've said on many occasions that I love stripes, especially 'nautical/Parisienne stripes', and will often wear a striped top 2-3 times a week (different ones of course, although hubby thinks they're all the same). It was surprising to note that I have never photographed any 'striped' outfits, so I made a point of photographing the next one, no matter how 'boring' it was.  I wore this to a lovely dinner for two last Friday, and was a little tickled with myself for adding stripes under my sheer blouse (yep, am easily amused, haha).

  1. I LOVE this outfit! I'm definitely saving this in my inspiration folder. The way you've put that black sheer sequined top over the striped top is excellent, dear xoxo

(and also re: the latest dries, i know what you mean - first look over i was like - meh- not really me, but then i looked at all the detail shots and then went back to the full shots and i was sold. still, i probably would never wear some of the blocky jackets etc)

  13. Need HELP from my friend's (cheryl) style queen =) I was just introduced to your fantastic blog (she gave me the go-signal to use her computer & to search for your site in her bookmark section =)

Our friend is attending a BEACH wedding in Zanzibar, Africa and she asked us to suggest an outfit suited for this special occasion. I AM LOST, sadly =( and the other friend is busy...

Please, please give us a few suggestions!! I think she's part of the entourage...

We would appreciate it very much!!

  14. Thanks eri & the clothes horse!

Juaи + - Wow! Psychology must be so interesting! What a 180 turn from Business ;) Thx for the reply to my Q!

Emily - Zimbabwe! Wow, how exotic! What season will the wedding be held in? I'm guessing it'll be warm, or it wouldn't be held at the beach :)

    A few Q's:

    1) Is there a budget for the dress?
    2) Is the beach wedding followed by a swanky reception? Or is only one dress required?

I'll try to find a few examples, but I don't know your friend's 'shape/colouring/height/taste', so the range may be quite varied :)

  17. Hehe, this part made me laugh: "different ones of course, although hubby thinks they're all the same" ... men! They're not exactly the most observant when it comes to things like a girl's clothes and hair. ;)

Love your outfit though, stripes are always classic and beautiful!

And thanks for your comment, I love that you quoted the Beatles! :D I just bought 18 of the Beatles original LP records on eBay (I'm going to resale them in my upcoming online shop...well if I can manage to pry myself away from them haha), and so now I have the Beatles on my brain! ;)
