Beautiful draping...Resort 2010

As a self-confessed drape fanatic, I was delighted by 'Queen of Drape' Donna Karan, and French-Moroccan (born & raised in Israel) Yigal Azrouël's Resort 2010 collections. Donna Karan's 'Manhattan Tango' collection had plenty of waisted dresses, full skirts, frills, bold patterns and colours, whilst still retaining some of her trademark draping & soft pastel hues that I absolutely adore. Whereas, Yigal Azrouël's relatively pared down collection showcased gorgeous liquid jersey columns and floaty chiffon tunics...Subdued, elegant & so beautiful...

  1. Donna Karan isn´t one of my favourite designers... But this collection is GREAT!!

Gorgeous dresses! They seem a mix between hellenic art & chic parisien.

    I adore your blog!!

  14. Well, I was going to try to pick a favourtite, but my list just kept growing as each line passed. They're amazing dresses! Draping is such a fine art & when it's done well, it's just phenomenal.

MAJOR stand out dresses? The first one by Donna Karan, and the first one by Yigal Azrouël. I have an obsession with navy this winter.

  17. i do love the draping, that grey shirt dress at Donna Karan is stunning! i'm very into grey at the moment. And the turbands at Yigal Asrouel remind me of Dries SS09 in some way. Very 1930s chic.

  20. Hello dear,

Just wanted to reply to your comment (sorry being slow doing so), and say, yes, that probably was my last post. Though I don't know what the future holds, and perhaps I will return to GMNYC and blog again sometime later.

But, I really want to travel this summer, and not travel with a schedule, or with a tour group and guide, and not to stay in fancy hotels and within the boundaries of a resort...I really want to roam, in the truest sense. To immerse myself in the local cultures and lands, and not worry about tomorrow, but to simply live in the moment, and live it to the fullest.

Anyway, downside of traveling: I don't think my rather weighty desktop computer is going to be a very good travel companion, and who knows how often Internet cafes, or anything of that sort, I may come upon in my travels...so, I don't think I'll be able to keep up this blog, for at least a while. :(

But if I do travel (without a computer and all), I will certainly miss you, and your lovely blog, and thank you for always supporting me and leaving such kind, encouraging comments, I really appreciate it, more than I can find words to say. <3

Anyway, hope you're having a lovely week, my dear! <3

    xoxo,
    S-C
