When I walked into the Chanel store on Rue du Faubour Saint-Honoré in Paris, it was just to do some 'museum/window shopping'. And 'just for fun' (because they didn't have classic beige with GHW I wanted to see), I tried on some 'Boy' bags. I had seen them before, but had never considered them for myself...until this moment:

Mr Brigs insisted I
get one (which is incredibly unusual, I tell you!). I kept saying no,
no, no...I have to obsess over something for months or years first, I
can't decide things at the snap of my fingers! After mulling it over
some lunch, we went back, and I walked out with this...
I used to have a thing about not being able to wear the double interlocked 'C's' (despite that being my actual initials - so, really, made to measure, right?), but I have warmed up to the idea, ever since I borrowed my sister's classic Chanel bag for half an hour (we swapped bags)
Thought I'd lie it side by side with my Chanel 2.55 Reissue 266 to compare dimensions...
The (medium) Boy bag is wider and shorter...
I've already taken the 'Boy' for several 'spins', and like its 'punky' edge. One outfit included my navy David Szeto 'Moulin' dress and Maison Martin Margiela for H&M plexi boots

Le BOY is beautiful, such a gorgeous design - it's on my wish list :)

I have to say I have huge envy of you for purchasing this bag! it's the one Chanel that I actually want to buy (other than some shoes of course). Seems like a decent size too!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty good size, like the PS11 Mini perhaps? Since I hadn't come across the PS11 in black during my trip (and this being a few days before I left Paris), I thought, perhaps this is a better 'investment'...It had the same 'lunchbox' shape I liked about the PS11, but seemed like a possibly 'dressier'/evening option (but still 'funky', especially with the double stitching, which punked it up a bit, I think...). Of course, having obsessed over the PS11 for as long as I have, I still couldn't get it out of my mind, but at least that cinched which size I got that one in, haha!

Thanks H! I haven't had much luck reacquiring Photoshop yet, so am just snapping with my phone (and having too much fun on Instagram in the process). Re: Boy. Yes, I must admit when I saw the 'smooth (non-quilted)' original version, I thought, nice, but think much of it. I only first saw this quilted version when I walked into the store (pictured above).

love the new boy chanel! do you mind sharing the product code? any idea if they have a bigger size for this?
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I left my box/paperwork in Paris, so I don't have the code, and since my knowledge about Boy bags are almost non-existent I'm afraid I also don't know if they have a bigger size for this exact model. I do know that there is a 'large' boy, which looked almost like a Chanel Jumbo to me, though, it seemed a bit too big for evening, but fairly big for day. Sorry I'm not much help!
DeleteCan you please give me the measurement of your boy? The dimension perhaps? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHow much is this boy double stitch in euro?
