New York Fashion Week - Fall/Winter 2010 Pt 6: Simple Draping - Matthew Ames, Max Azria & BCBG, Richard Chai Love, Yigal Azrouel & A Detacher

Matthew Ames

Soft, supple camel-colored toppers with big, enveloping hoods—a great alternative to a motorcycle jacket. Matthew Ames created a wardrobe of "interchangeable pieces", with classic shapes—jackets, pants, shirts—which really stripped them down and minimal:

Max Azria

Loved the simple draped pieces of this collection:

BCBG Max Azria

Color-blocked silks in clean geometric silhouettes layered with whisper-thin black knit tops; easy dresses cinched with wide elastic belts. Loved the layering of these pieces, allowing them to be worn from one season to the next:

Richard Chai Love

Lots of layering, and easy to wear pieces, I liked the fluidity of the pants, and the grey marle (always a fan)...

Yigal Azrouel

It just so happened that both of my favourite looks for this collection were modelled by my favourite model, Brazilian Bruna Tenorio:

A Detacher

I have only discovered this designer label recently, and loved the sparkly green draped dress and golden playsuit, so effortless yet so glam:

  1. Gosto muito do corte minimalista de algumas dessas roupas, minimalismo com um twist, sem cair no marasmo:) Bjs!

  2. Bruna Tenorio is my favorite, too. She has such a great look and doesn't look like a carbon copy of lots of the other ladies on the runway. I particularly love the Yigal Azrouel outfit she's in on the left.
