Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010 Pt 2: Rue de Mail, Rochas & Giles

Rue de Mail

Martine Sitbon focused her latest collection on more structured silhouettes, with expert tailoring, especially with her trenchcoats, using tucks and folds around the shoulders, as well as splicing. Loved her quilted puffed jackets with their shawl-like lapels; as well as Martine's beautiful dresses, in particular the fitted & ruched knits and the bell-shaped sleeveless black velvet dress. The slender coatdresses and outerwear (that brocade kimono-sleeved coat is stunning!) were divine...

Rochas

Late-sixties/early-seventies vibe, metallic brocade at Rochas:

Giles

Giles showed a collection with a beautiful palette of browns and oranges and a sixties 'vibe' showcasing A-line skirts, cropped versions of winter's new flares, metallic brocade gathered short skirts, and a shearling jacket. The peach coat and dresses at the end of the show (with their explosion of colour against black) were the highlights for me:

  1. The detailing at Sitbon is amazing. And Giles is perfection as always.

  2. Rochas is beautiful. Did you already give us your take on Celine? Did I miss that?
