Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 Pt 5: Lanvin, Christian Dior & Yves Saint Laurent

Alber Elbaz started with simple lines which became more fanciful and colourful as the collection progressed, gorgeous textures, severe but sensual drapes, black lace, knit sheaths with poufs of mousseline, and roses (in stunning accessories, from belts to necklaces and bracelets). This was one stunning collection:

Christian Dior

I will not go into the Dior/Galliano issue except to say how incredibly sad it is. It is also sad that this collection was Galliano's last for the Dior house. Rich colours and lush textures, which finished with tiers of sheer pastel chiffon, lace, and tulle.

Yves Saint Laurent

  1. Lanvin is always exquisite! And the boots that Dior made are incredible . . . I still stomp around in my old 2006 chunky high heeled biker boot by Dior. YSL is lovely and lady-like . . . maybe too lady-like . . .

  2. I love Lanvin so much ♥

  3. J'adore j'adore J'DORE LANVIN! Shu xx

  4. That white Le Smoking at YSL is gorgeous. Oh yes Dior, there's not much to say, it's unfortunate but he has no-one to blame but himself. But he was at Dior for a long time (I'm to lazy to look up the actual amount) but it will be interesting who will takes the reigns at Dior next and bring it into a new era.
