Chanel
What a mammoth collection! From dégradé chiffon florals to monochrome tweed patchwork, almost everything had an unfinished feel, a thready, feathered edge. It was hard to focus on some beautiful pieces when some of the footwear was...not nice (to put it mildly). However, I there were plenty of beautiful pieces, accessories (aside from a few questionable pairs of wedge shoes) and outfits for SS'11:
Yves Saint Laurent
Stefano Pilati revisited the YSL codes one by one: beginning with a trenchcoat and building—naturally—to Le Smoking, in crepe de soir. In between came bowed blouses, blasts of color, cabans, paysanne ruffles, clouds of marabou & long forties lines, from pristine white to stark black:

PS. Am I the only one that baulked at a few of those wedge shoes at Chanel?

I didn't like the Chanel shoes. But I loved that rolled up clutch purse. Loved YSL, though.
ReplyDeleteBefore I finish reading the paragraph, I caught a view of the shoes and thought 'YUCK'. So yeah. They are bulky and just look wrong for the finishing.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I am loving the colour that Chanel is using! gorgeous!
