Stella McCartney for Target

Today was the release date for Stella McCartney's 2nd collection for Target in Australia. Three years ago there was a huge hype surrounding her first collection for Target here in Oz, and I fell for it, buying several items full-priced because 'they' said items were limited and would sell out very quickly. Sadly, a few weeks later I saw several items on sale racks at incredibly low prices. It took me a year or so to wear some of my pieces, because I was too embarrassed to wear them out, as it seemed every single person had the same blouse (it was a very recognizable print). Having said that, my Stella McCartney cashmere/wool oversized zip cardigan is one of my most-used item in my closet even today, and I wouldn't have minded buying another one.

Anyhoo...I will not be rushing to Target this time to fight with the crowds to buy a 'Stella' piece, especially since the prices are not that 'cheap'. The tulip trench I like is $249, and the gathered silk dress is $299. I have not seen these items in person, but I hope the price is reflected in the quality of these garments (it is still a Target piece after all).

These are my favourite pieces of the collection (you can see the rest of the collection HERE - just click on the 'apparel' link), and here is hoping they will be on the sale rack in a few weeks time:

On another note, today is a MUCH more exciting day for a totally different reason, it is my not-so-little sister's birthday:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 'J'!!!

Wish I were there to give you big 'Forever Friends' bear hugs & lots of smooches in person!

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!

Taylor Tomasi Hill - Queen of Accessories Pt 5C: Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Weeks

Accessories

Trademark layered accessories

Leopard bag

Leopard clutch

Cat-eyed sunglasses and Alexander McQueen leather bustier

Cat-eyed sunglasses again, this time in tortoishell (love the lipstick!)

Miu Miu clutch - such a gorgeous colour!

Leopard scarf

Blackberry & gorgeous Cartier Pasha watch

Taylor Tomasi Hill - Queen of Accessories Pt 5B: Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Weeks

Sequins

Although I'm not a fan of the Ashish tunic, I see Taylor is sticking with her best colour - vibrant blue. I also love the navy man-style pants, I have an almost identical pair (I bought two pairs because I loved it so much, and it was super reduced)'.

I love how Taylor toned down the vibrant sequinned Ashish dress with a casual oversized sweater...and LOVE those Balenciaga boots!

Ok, don't laugh, but I think a stick-on bra would've improved this look...Love the Alexander Wang draped sequined skirt though!

Denim & Utilitarian Chic

We don't often see Fashion Editors in blue denim during Fashion Week (unless it is a pair of Balmain jeans), but Taylor proves why it is such a wardrobe staple:

A simple take on Utilitarian Chic made even more chic with the leopard bag.

Such a gorgeous navy blazer, love it!

Taylor Tomasi Hill - Queen of Accessories Pt 5A: Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Weeks

Although I probably would not personally wear half the outfits in this post, I admire Taylor Tomasi Hill's style for its sense of fun and vivacity. For the Spring/Summer Fashion Weeks 2011 Taylor's wardrobe comprised of her now trademark cat-eyed sunglasses (and in tortoiseshell), leopard print (scarf and bag), layered accessories, Miu Miu blush pink clutch, leather bustier, Tommy Hilfiger shoes, sequinned Ashish dress & tunic, lots of patterns and colours, and of course...her vibrant hair and infections smile:

Prints

Dries Van Noten blouse

Mixed prints

I LOVE this outfit, the silhouette, the print, the leather bustier I could never pull off...

Neutrals

This is one of my favourite outfits in this post, simple and casually elegant

Love that blazer!

Gorgeous silk chiffon blouse

A 'librarian' look made chic with the leopard scarf and funky shoes

I love these heels, although I don't have the pins to pull them off

Electric Blue

Although I'm not a fan of either top, we cannot deny that electric blue looks brilliant with Taylor's gorgeous hair! As previously seen in this post: HERE.

I decided to split this previously MAMMOTH post into three parts, so you click HERE to see Taylor's Accessories, and HERE to see her in Sequins and Denim & Utilitarian Chic.

Shop at Brigadeiro's: Rachel Roy Leather Jacket

Shop at Brigadeiro's

Rachel Roy Leather Jacket

Size US 6 (fits US 4 as well)
UK 8-10

This is from Rachel Roy's mainline collection, not her diffusion line, and retailed for well over US$1000.

I have not worn it myself, but lent it to my mom to wear it once for 2 hours. In pristine, as new condition.

Beautiful soft leather, fully lined, with subtle tweed detailing at the cuffs and under the lapels. Cute little round brass buttons, expert tailoring at the lapels, and two front pockets. Beautifully tailored/cut so that the hem curves downwards to be longer at the back, and clever pleating detail on the collar.

This transseasonal jacket can be worn casually during the day with a distressed tee and jeans, or in the evening with a dress and heels. I love this jacket, but the door hinges on my closet have come undone (seriously), due to too many jackets and coats (embarrassing much?). My loss is your gain.

Sell for US$249 for a quick sale.

Yasmin Sewell - the girl from Oz Pt 3 Fashion Weeks Spring/Summer 2011: Navy & Blue

Following on from my favourite fashionistas at the Fashion Weeks Spring/Summer 2011 is Yasmin Sewell, wearing one of my favourite colour combinations: navy + blue. Disproving beautifully that these colours should not be worn together:

Burberry Prorsum coat (LOVE this) & Balenciaga sandals

Another of my favourite 'looks': off-shoulder tops.

Yves Saint Laurent bag

I am seriously obsessing about these Burberry Prorsum shearling boots since it graced the catwalks!
